USA Water Polo has teamed up with sports technology specialists, Sport:80, to make a significant shift in the way it delivers digital services to athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs.

in place for nearly two decades, to the Sport:80 Platform. USA Water Polo will join 20 other compatriots including USA Archery, USA Climbing, USA Track & Field and USA Weightlifting in utilising Sport:80’s innovative technology solutions. 

The National Governing Body of Sport (NGB) has been working with Sport:80 over the past twelve months to design, configure and launch new online member services. At the core of the services is the innovative Sport:80 Platform, a cloud-based sport management system.

USA Water Polo’s custom configured solution will deliver online membership registrations and renewals, ID verification, management of certifications, event sanctioning and event registration among a host of other functions. It will also support the delivery of the NGBs’ Olympic Development Programme (ODP), and compliance and safeguarding needs through integrations with the US Center for SafeSport and background screening provider NCSI. 

Christy Sicard, Senior Director of Membership and SafeSport Compliance at USA Water Polo, explained how the move has been fuelled by the need to improve the functionality and stability of the NGB’s digital services:

“With the new platform we are able to centralise a diverse range of member services to improve the online experience for members. In time, we are confident that it will also help us realise efficiencies across the organization so we can invest even more resource into the development of the sport. Added to this is the fact that Sport:80’s integrations with the US Center for SafeSport and NCSI further strengthen our compliance processes.”

Importantly, the new platform will future-proof USA Water Polo’s member services as it brings with it the flexibility to evolve over time. Two future phases for the platform have already been planned beyond the launch; both will incorporate further services for USA Water Polo members to take advantage of. Sport:80’s partnership approach is key to this on-going development.

Sport:80 and USA Water Polo will be working closely throughout this multi-year partnership to ensure the new platform meets the evolving needs of the sport and to introduce new innovations.
