In the next instalment of our 'Meet The Team' series, we introduce Jake Lane, Content Marketing Executive at Sport:80.
Jake, tell us a bit about yourself!
"I grew up in Gloucestershire, and moved up north to study Journalism at the Uni of Sheffield. In my three years studying I, like many others, fell in love with the city and decided to stay here after graduating.
"My first ‘proper job’ was working in marketing and communications for the Derbyshire County Football Association, but after a few years there I was ready to make the next step in my career, and that led me to my current role at Sport:80, which I started in April."
What are some of your main duties at Sport:80?
"My main responsibility is the delivery of the company’s content strategy across multiple channels, ensuring it is aligned with other business objectives.
"This involves designing and delivering campaigns, creating marketing materials, and analysing campaign performance to develop future strategies."
Tell us a bit about your interests!
"To be honest, a great deal of my personal life revolves around football. If I’m not spending time with friends, I’ll either be watching football, writing about it, coaching it, or occasionally playing it.
"Aside from that, I like to cook up a good meal and sit down to watch a film or a tv series, and I’m making more of an effort to see live music.
"I also recently binge-watched Drive to Survive on Netflix and now think I know everything about Formula One."
Who is your favourite sports team/athlete?

What's your favourite sporting memory?

"Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker."
The thing that annoys you most?
"Very hard to pick just one! However, slow walkers. Makes me furious."

If you could go back to any moment in time, what would it be?
